When in Rome..
The truth is Rome is amazing and there is so much to see that even if you stayed a week you wouldn’t see it all. When it comes to travel often times you are only able to stay for a day or two before your next destination and for that… here is Rome in a day.
We started our day in Civitavecchia and bought a train ticket to Rome. They leave hourly and for less than 5 Euros each way! The train ride is about an hour- (this is a great time to map out your plan if you haven’t already- many of the sites are near each other)
Trevi Fountain- an absolute Tourist MUST Do. You can walk around and view the fountain while enjoying a gelato! In summer months the lines can be quite long to get down to the fountain but you can very much still see it!
The Coliseum - The view from the outside is beautiful, however there are great tours that are available and highly recommended if you have time and love history! It is good to book reservations in advance and would advise to buy a SKIP THE LINE ticket, as the lines can be 1 hr+.
Pantheon- Only a couple Euros and incredible site to see. This can be a quick stop taking less than 30 minutes to get a great view and walk around and read about the history and importance of this architectural treasure!
Pizza, Pasta, Wine, Gelato- the limit does not exist
